Dr. Michael Estivo

Dr. Michael Estivo is an Orthopedic, Spine Surgeon and Injury lawyer. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Northeast Missouri State University. He graduated with his medical degree from the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his internship followed by an Orthopedic Surgery residency at the Kirksville Osteopathic Medical Center. Dr. Estivo was trained in Advanced Spinal Surgery with Dr. Garth Russell, Columbia Missouri.

Dr. Estivo founded the Wichita Bone and Joint Center and practiced orthopedic and spinal surgery. He has performed thousands of surgeries including trauma surgeries, hip and knee replacements, shoulder, knee and spine surgeries.

Dr. Estivo has testified in Court many times, both as an expert witness, as well as a treating physician. It was during these Court appearances Dr. Estivo first got to witness the unfair treatment of injured people by the Defense attorneys being paid by insurance companies. It didn’t matter to the insurance companies, nor their hired lawyers, how badly injured or affected the injured victim’s lives were. The insurance hired lawyers attacked them at every opportunity. They were portrayed as liars and exaggerators of their injuries. Dr. Estivo knew these people were being honest about their injuries and were only seeking the compensation to which they were entitled. Still, too often the insurance paid lawyers were able to minimize the injuries. The injured people would too often be victimized twice, once by the physical injury and again by the insurance paid lawyer in Court. This happened especially when the attorney representing the injured person didn’t know the medicine well enough to counter the insurance lawyer. When on the witness stand in Court, Dr. Estivo wasn’t free to say whatever would be helpful, because he could only answer the questions he was asked. If not asked the right questions by the injury lawyer, he couldn’t add anything. This led him to go to law school. To really make a difference, to level the playing field for the injured people.

Dr. Estivo is able to call upon his substantial years of medical training, medical practice, and experience having performed thousands of surgeries to properly represent his clients for their injuries. No insurance paid lawyer is going to know the medicine better than someone who has treated those injuries many times.
